(Even aside from anything else I love about the place, Dream’s Deep is so pretty.)
I know this didn’t actually happen during the first trip to Dream’s Deep. But I can’t have been the only person who kind of thought it was going to. Luigi’s idolisation of and devotion to his brother made apparent in that scene is so touching that I genuinely teared up on my first time playing through it. And Mario… while there’s less overt evidence than there is of Luigi’s love for him, I firmly maintain that Mario cares just as much for Luigi and has always believed in him. Dream’s Deep is my favourite part of this game. That’s not to say that the rest of it isn’t also amazing, just that I love this part that much.
